Light Trails

My research involves trajectory planning for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In this image the history of the UAV’s trajectory is shown through a compound image created by combining video frames from a flight. This technique allows for a visual representation of the travelled trajectory to be displayed highlighting deviations which can occur during flight. Deployment of lightweight and affordable autonomous aerial vehicles can assist with numerous applications from construction, to agriculture, to tourism. Understanding their dynamic behaviours exhibited during flight is essential to safe operation within public spaces.
