Diagnoses and Reconstructions (III)
The photograph documents a micro performance art work undertaken in various locations across Highgreen Valley’s fields and moorlands in Northumberland. In that project, using my own body, I complete, soothe or reconstruct lost or damaged fragments of nature. My body constitutes a kind of prosthesis for nature by undertaking small interventions which supported it and an environment around. I stood in for the missing parts of burnt trees, supported withered boughs and subsiding slopes and filled the cracks, crannies and gaps of abandoned animal shelters. For a brief time, nature and the body belonged together and co-existed in symbiosis.
