Fixing the Wheel
Tigray in Ethiopia, displays glimpses of the adaptive ability of man to address complex issues with simple solutions. On a late night return to the main town, three Bajajs (the vehicle displayed) were carrying our party, when all of a sudden on a deserted road, a stray shard of metal punctured the tyre. In unison the other drivers rushed to the aid of ours, displaying inginuity and another virtue in the process...teamwork. The latter is a skill becoming increasingly rare in the developed world. Perhaps we can learn something of value from the global south that will stand us in good stead to tackle some of our greatest adversiaries.
