Flying Wolf

Mr Weerapong Prasongchean, Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health

You can experience visual illusions from this image. For example, squint your eyes a little and focus on the left side of this image. Can you see a green wolf with a long nose, pointed ears and powerful blue and red eyes? Alternatively, tilt your head to the right and what can you see? Yes, it is a flying ghost!

This is a picture of a starved mouse cerebellar C17.2 neural stem cell cultured in serum-free medium. The blue round structure is the cell nucleus stained with DAPI. Alpha tubulin filaments are stained in orange, forming a network connecting the peri-nuclear area to the edge of the cell. Stress fibers consisting G-actin and F-actin are clearly seen in green.
