Chase on Mars

Mr Weerapong Prasongchean, Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health

Space explorers are chasing on the red planet Mars. The mission is accomplished by actively migrating rat green fluorescent protein (GFP)-expressing amniotic fluid stem cells transplanted into an organotypic entorhino-hippocampal slice. Class III beta tubulin-expressing hippocampal neurones are seen in red as a space station on Mars. The ‘run away’ cells have changed their morphology from stellate to bi-polar.
