Effective Academic Writing: Individual Tutorials

The Graduate School is host to UCL's Royal Literary Fund Fellows, professional authors who offer one-to-one tutorials in effective academic writing, free of charge, to all students at UCL.

The principal aim of the Fellows' work is to foster good writing practice across all disciplines and media, helping students to write clearly and effectively.

You can find details of the current Fellows below. You can contact them directly to make an appointment.

Ideally, your time with a Fellow will focus on an early draft of your writing or just a section of that draft, or notes on a title. During the course of the consultation you can seek the Fellow's advice on understanding the question, structuring and planning your research and writing, writing clearly and effectively, and any other concerns you may have about your written work. The Fellows do not advise on content or teach English as a second language. Samples of written work may be dropped off at the Fellows' office a few days ahead of a booked session.

RLF Fellows are based in:
Graduate School Training Suite
Seminar Room (B.02)
66-72 Gower Street
