Graduate School Fellowship Fund

Applications are invited from Heads of Department to apply on behalf of any research student at UCL who, due to unforeseen difficulties, is unable to complete his/her research without financial assistance.

The Fellowships are only awarded to graduate research students who are already registered for a MPhil/PhD degree at UCL, and whose circumstances have changed since they registered for their degree.

Guidelines

  • The Fellowships are tenable in any department.
  • The Fellowships can cover the cost of fees and/or maintenance.
  • The Fellowships are awarded to graduate students of exceptionally high calibre who are already registered for a research degree at University College London.
  • The Fellowships are awarded to students who, due to unforeseen difficulties, are unable to complete their research without financial assistance.

How to apply

  • Applications for a Fellowship must be made, in writing, by the Head of Department to the Head of the Graduate School, and must include:
    1. particulars of research work which the student is pursuing
    2. a full CV;
    3. letters of support from two academic referees; and
    4. details of the student's change of circumstances and evidence to support this.
  • Applications will be considered by the Head of the Graduate School.
  • The Graduate School reserves the right to vary these regulations should it become necessary to do so in order to ensure the continued use of the resources in the fund.
  • All applications must clearly state why no other source of funding is available, and where else the student and/or department have applied for funding.
