Bogue Scholarships

Bogue Research Fellowships, are funded by a major legacy to UCL and are intended to enable UCL postgraduate students (subject to the approval of the funding agency) and junior postdoctoral researchers (normally within 6 years of obtaining a doctorate) in the biomedical sciences to learn new techniques and/or carry out research over periods of a few weeks to a maximum (exceptionally) of one year (but normally less), in a laboratory or laboratories in the USA or Canada as part of their doctoral studies or postdoctoral research programme.

The Fellowships are provided primarily for the purpose of enriching and developing the research careers of the Fellows. Fellowships can provide either the full costs of such visits or supplementation for other support. All areas of biomedical sciences are covered, but under the terms of the legacy those working in the areas of Clinical Medicine and Psychiatry cannot be considered for Fellowships, although individuals carrying out laboratory research in clinical departments are eligible. Ample and very generous funding is available: good applications have a high chance of success.

Applications are considered 2 times a year. Further details and application forms may be found here.
