Graduate School Welcome Events
The Graduate School organises a short programme for all
new graduate students at which we give information about the support and facilities
offered by the Graduate School and other departments, and provide a flavour
of the exciting research being carried out across many disciplines at UCL.

Research Student Log and Skills Development Programme

UCL Graduate School Research Images Competition
The Graduate School runs a Research Images as Art / Art Images as Research competition/exhibition that is open to all UCL graduate students and academic staff, either science or arts based.
Entrants are invited to submit images associated with their research which
have aesthetic appeal. An exhibition of the images is held centrally in College
and assessed by a panel of judges, chaired by Professor John Aiken, Director of the Slade School of Fine Art.
Prizes are awarded for the best images.

SPRING TERM
Graduate School Welcome Event
A short induction programme for research students is offered at the beginning of Term 2 for research students who arrived after September. We provide information about the support and facilities offered by the Graduate School and other departments, and provide a flavour of the exciting research being carried out across many disciplines at UCL.
UCL Graduate School Research Poster Competition
The Graduate School runs a Research Poster Competition which offers graduate research students an opportunity to meet, advertise and discuss the innovative research they are undertaking, thereby providing them with an opportunity to raise the profile of their research.
Students are invited to display their posters centrally in College and these are then judged by a panel of UCL academics. Prizes are awarded to the best posters in each of the Faculty groupings.

Previous Years:
UCL Graduate School Review Competition
The Graduate School re-designed the Review Competition for 2007/08. It is conceived as complementary to the Graduate School Research Poster competition and is open to graduate research students in the Faculties of Arts & Humanities, Laws, and Social & Historical Sciences.
Research students are invited to write a review, judged by a panel of UCL academics and research students. Prizes are awarded to the best entries, which will also be published on-line in Opticon 1826. View this year's winners »

Inter-University Poster Competition
The Graduate School has also run an Inter-University Competition, featuring
students from UCL, Cambridge, Imperial and Oxford.
